Chris Van Olmen is founding partner of the law firm Van Olmen & Wynant and head of the employment law practice. He is also chairman of L&E Global, an integrated alliance of premier employment law boutique firms.

Philippe Peters

Philippe Péters specialises in intellectual property and information technology. He has significant experience in trademark, copyright, patent, IT and commercial litigation. Philippe is a member of various international IP associations and a former president of both the Belgian Computer Law Association and the Standing Committee on Intellectual Property and New Technologies of the Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats.

Philippe taught IT law at the Haute Ecole Commerciale Saint-Louis for eight years and has been a deputy judge in Brussels since 1988. He is the co-author of a textbook and has published various articles on computer law.

Benoît Goemans

Benoît Goemans graduated at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, as a Candidate in law and as a Licentiate in law, at the Tulane University (New Orleans) as a LL.M. in Admiralty (1989) and at the Universiteit Antwerpen  (Diploma Maritime law and laws of the Inland Waterways, 1990).

Benoît Goemans was called at the Antwerp bar  (Belgium) in 1987, he is a founding partner of Goemans, De Scheemaecker Advocaten.  His practice is mainly related to the maritime and transport activity, both as a litigator and as a drafter of instruments.

He was a Professor of maritime law and marine insurance (Université de Liège 1995-1996, Université catholique de Louvain, 1994 – 2008, Universiteit Hasselt 1999 2008) and guest speaker at the University of Antwerp  (since 1997) and at a postgraduate degree of the French speaking universities in Belgium (1997 – 2008).

He was a member of the Group of Experts and of the  Royal Commission to the revision of the Belgian maritime law.

Bart Van den Brande

Bart Van den Brande has been a member of the Dutch speaking Brussels Bar Association since 2001 and has worked at several well-known Brussels law firms.  He has built an extensive expertise in media and advertisement law, market practices and consumer protection, intellectual property, internet and e-commerce, privacy and data protection, IT, software development and gambling law.

Mia Wouters

Mia Wouters graduated in law from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (K.U.Leuven), obtained a special degree in Maritime and Air Law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (U.L.B.), a Certificate of Port Sciences from the Universiteit Gent and holds a Masters Degree (LLM) from the Institute of Air and Space Law of the McGill University, Montreal.

 

Mia is a Director of the European Aviation Club, and serves on the Committee of the UK based Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) Brussels Branch. She also serves as an Officer of the Aviation Committee – International Bar Association (I.B.A.).

 

She is one of the founding members of the International Aviation Women’apos;s Association (I.A.W.A.) and a member of various air law associations. In 2006 she was appointed to serve as the Belgian judge to the European Nuclear Energy Tribunal in Paris under the OECD’s Nuclear Energy Agency.

 

Mia has broadly published on aviation and aviation related matters such as ground-handling, CRS and passenger rights and has been involved in several reports drawn up for the European Commission.

 

She is regularly requested to be a guest lecturer on aviation law and has addressed several conferences worldwide on air transportation. Subsequent to having been in charge of the practical courses in air law at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (K.U.Leuven) and the Universiteit Antwerpen (ITTMA) Mia is currently an invited professor in Air Law at the Universiteit Gent.

 

Dutch-speaking, Mia also handles files in English and French.
