Mrs. Urvashi Bissoonauth is a sworn Law Practitioner and Counsellor, authorised to practise as a Notary Public in Mauritius. She holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours (LLB Hons) from the University of Mauritius and has been actively engaged in the legal field since 2014.
After gaining valuable experience through collaborations with prestigious notarial chambers, Mrs. Bissoonauth established her own notarial practice, where she has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality legal services. Her areas of focus include real estate law, family law, landlord and tenant matters, trust and real estate project structures. Having been trained in both English common law and French civil law, she is fully proficient in navigating the complexities of both legal systems.
Mrs. Bissoonauth has worked on various real estate developments under the RES (Real Estate Scheme) and PDS (Property Development Scheme), as well as on Smart City restructuring projects. In addition to her notarial practice, Mrs. Bissoonauth is a lecturer for the Law Practitioners Vocational Course (LPVC). Since 2018, she has been mentoring prospective notaries in key areas of property law and the law of securities, further contributing to the development of the legal profession in Mauritius.
Known for her precision and creativity, Mrs. Bissoonauth’s forte lies in drafting complex notarial documents—ranging from sui generis agreements to security instruments, deeds of sale, and pre-sale contracts—all in strict compliance with Mauritian legal standards.
