Espen is a partner and member of the board of the firm in Oslo. He is the head of the IPR- (intellectual property rights) and Media group as well as the Sports group of the firm. Some of the world’s most well-known companies come to Espen when they need assistance with IPR related issues. He is also active within commercial transactions and has considerable experience in commercial disputes and proceedings.

Codex represents a wide range of national and international clients. Espen has for several years represented some of Norway’s most prominent IT companies with their commercial transactions and international negotiations. He has also assisted both national and international TV- companies in IPR related issues.

In 2009 Espen was invited as a speaker at the yearly IBC Euroforum IT – conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, presenting Norwegian standard contracts for use in iterative IT- projects.

Within sports law, Espen and the Sports group represent several football (soccer) agent companies as well as clubs and individual players with regard to advice, negotiations and disputes.

The firm’s lawyers assist clubs and players with transfers, employment contracts and sponsor contracts. The firm also advises athletes with regard to business development, business strategy and protection of intellectual property rights.

Espen was educated at the University of Oslo and Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, USA and is certified with the Norwegian Football Association in football regulations for Norway, FIFA and UEFA.
