By holding wrongdoers accountable there will be less wrong-doing and our world will be a safer, gentler place for us all.

What Makes Us Different?

There are plenty of law firms operating throughout California and no doubt, many attorneys near you, but not all provide the same quality of representation and care. At Bisnar Chase, we believe that our track record sets us apart from the crowd.

The passionate representation of people like you is what makes us different. From your first phone call on, you will feel the passion our team has for taking care of you and for winning your case. You will sense that we are your legal dream team.

Our outstanding statistics, awards, and reviews provide a signal of the quality representation that we provide. But they are secondary to seeing the impact we have on the lives of our clients.

  • Passion is winning your case when others said it couldn’t be done.
  • Passion is convincing the insurance adjusters or a jury that you were right all along.
  • Passion is collecting every cent your case, the law, and circumstance allow.

Best Place to Work

Bisnar Chase has been named one of the Best Places To Work by the Orange County Business Journal every year since 2012. What that means is the Bisnar Chase team has a great working environment and is highly engaged and motivated.

It is John Bisnar’s belief that well-taken care of, highly engaged, and motivated team of employees working in a cooperative team environment will result in superior representation and great results for the clients.

The quality of service that we provide depends on the skill and passion of our staff. Each Bisnar Chase team member shares a passion for helping people, and working tirelessly to make sure justice is done. We have assembled a top quality team filled with skilled workers and, just as importantly, good people. We love what we do, and take our responsibility seriously.

Plaintiff’s Attorneys Representing You

We represent people in California who have been seriously injured or lost a family member due to an accident or a defective product. We also represent people who have been denied employment rights.

We bring those who have been negligent to justice, while helping to make sure victims are made whole.

Our law firm consists of nine attorneys divided into four litigation teams. Each litigation team is led by an experienced personal injury trial lawyer and includes a combination of paralegals and legal assistants.

Brian Chase is our chief litigator and is the winner of multiple Attorney of the Year awards. He manages the litigation teams and is the lead litigator in our largest and most challenging cases.

Many of our other attorneys have also won major awards, and our team has the resources to take on even the toughest cases and claims.

The Bisnar Chase Story

Where does our “passion” come from? John Bisnar started this law firm right out of law school in 1978. John went to law school believing a legal education would serve him better in a business career than earning another business degree. In his first month of law school he was seriously injured in a traffic collision by a negligent driver.

The attorney who represented Mr. Bisnar, one of his law school professors, did a poor job representing him. From that experience John learned what it was like to need and depend upon an attorney for quality professional assistance and not get it. The professor was a famous personal injury attorney, yet John knew he could do a better job for clients.

Due to that experience, Mr. Bisnar vowed that his clients would get the quality of professional service that he wished he had received. With that vow, Mr. Bisnar started Bisnar & Associates, a firm that he successfully operated for twenty years.

In 1998, that firm evolved into Bisnar Chase with Brian Chase leading the litigation team and Mr. Bisnar focusing on our clients’ needs, ensuring we live up to the vow. Today we serve a couple of hundred clients at a time. And we work to live up to the vow each and every day.

Based in Orange County and serving the whole of California, Bisnar Chase is a top-rated law firm. We have built a strong reputation by serving more than 12,000 clients with a 99% success rate, winning in excess of $700 million in verdicts and settlements. We take on cases including car accidents, motorcycle wrecks, slip and fall injuries, dog bite claims, product liability accidents, employment law cases, and many more. We don’t even need to be near you as most of the case can be handled by phone, Zoom and email. Guarantee: If we don’t win your case, you don’t pay.

We are a proud member of the National Chamber of Commerce as well as several local chapters. We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Representation and assistance for victims of plane crashes, maritime disasters, and land transportation accidents

With over 20 years’ experience, we have represented more than 3,500 victims (or their family members) of 35 plane crashes in recent years. From our offices in Madrid and Bordeaux, and with the cooperation of an international network of partners, we develop the best global strategy for these particularly complex litigation proceedings, which always include an international component often overlooked by those whose expertise lies elsewhere.

Our area of practice likewise extends to victims of other types of public transport accidents, such as maritime disasters and train crashes.

We also have experience in representing the victims of powerful pharmaceutical companies that have sold defective products, putting people’s health and lives at risk, as well as the victims of medical malpractice.

Only a specialized law firm that is fully conversant with International Codes and Regulations and how big corporations operate is capable of representing victims the way they deserve.

Leonardo Amarente

The Leonardo Amarante Advogados Associados office has accumulated 30 years of experience in actions related to Civil Responsibility, acting in defense and in the search for effective moral and material reparation, through the compensation of victims and relatives.

The decisive performance in cases such as Bateau Mouche, Palace II, Hemophiliacs contaminated in blood transfusions and more recently with 50 families of the largest air accident in Brazil occurred with the GOL airplane put the office among the country’s main in its area of action.

In addition to its national activities in the different judicial bodies, the office is associated with the Global Justice Network , an international entity whose purpose is to promote the access of citizens of diverse nationalities to jurisdictions of foreign countries.

With the advent of globalization, more and more Brazilians travel abroad for business or tourism. They are people who use interstate highways, shop in shops and shopping malls, consume products in restaurants, hire services of all kinds, and have fun in parks, ski resorts, cruises, and various other leisure options. Unfortunately, accidents happen on such occasions, often frustrating people’s travel and expectations.

Aiming to meet the need of Brazilians who had their rights violated on international travel, our firm formed partnerships with renowned law firms in the United States, Canada and Europe, aiming at facilitating actions that are often left behind by the injured, either because there is no interest in discussing issues that have only brought displeasure, or because they believe it is very difficult or costly to hire a lawyer abroad.

Our office can help you exercise your rights before US and European courts, raising your doubts about the functioning of legal systems in America and Europe, and clarifying important issues regarding process time and costs. The orientation of our work has always been focused on meeting customer demands in an agile and economical way.

Mary E. Alexander

Most lawyers take on a case – a few take on a cause. Over the past 30 years, Mary Alexander has earned a national reputation for her work protecting consumer rights, winning the respect of clients and colleagues alike. A past president of both the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Consumer Attorneys of California, Mary’s career – both in and out of the courtroom – has focused on one thing: ensuring that those who have been harmed by the negligent, preventable actions of others get their day in court – and get the answers, and justice, they deserve.

In the process, Mary has built a notable record of success, both before juries and at the negotiation table. Some of the highlights include:

  • A $45 million verdict for a San Mateo victim, who had her neck broken, was paralyzed for life, and became a quadriplegic when her car was struck by a driver speeding through a red light
  • A $13.3 million verdict for a severely injured client in Hall v. Yosemite Park and Curry Company, in which faulty bicycle brakes triggered a crash resulting in quadriplegia
  • A $5.5 million settlement for a long haul trucker was run over by another trucker while outside of the cab of his rig safely locking and inspecting his load.
  • A $4 million settlement in a San Francisco Municipal Railway accident, Landsverk v. CCSF
  • A $4 million settlement in a pedestrian accident, Ruszak v. State Farm

But it’s not just the results that have made Mary one of California’s most sought-after trial attorneys. It’s also a unique combination of capabilities and compassion that few lawyers can bring to their cases – or their clients. A scientist before she studied law, Mary leverages her technical background in every matter she takes on, and is well known for her ability to explain complicated theories to juries – and for using high-tech courtroom exhibits that help make difficult points easy to comprehend. She’s taken on cases other lawyers won’t, or can’t – such as child sex abuse cases – and assisted clients from all walks of life. Because someone who has been harmed is someone who should be helped.

Along the way, Mary, a graduate of Santa Clara University Law School, has been recognized repeatedly by her peers, and the press, for her work. Her awards and honors include:
