Kei Asatsuma is a partner at Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu. He has a diverse corporate practice with a strong concentration in complex business transactions, including M&A, divestitures, spin-offs, joint ventures, strategic alliances, leveraged buyouts, private equity investments, restructuring, and workouts and recapitalisations. He also advises clients in a wide variety of corporate matters, including corporate governance issues, and is often called upon to represent public companies involved in takeovers and active shareholder defences.
He has an LLB from the University of Tokyo (1995), and an LLM from the University of Chicago (2002). He joined Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu in April 1997 and has been a partner since January 2005. He has also worked at Kirkland & Ellis LLP (2002-2003), where he focused on international litigation and cross-border transactions involving Japanese companies, as well as general corporate matters for US and Japanese companies.
