Professional Biography:

Emily Beer is an associate and litigation lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. She is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice.

In 2014, Ms. Beer worked as a summer associate with Foley in the New York office. While in law school she served in a law clinic at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York and was a law clerk at the Tompkins County District Attorney’s Office.

Prior to law school, Ms. Beer worked as a research and development associate for a medical device start-up conducting patent research and drafting grant applications for developing technology.

Education:

Ms. Beer earned her law degree from Cornell Law (J.D., cum laude, 2014) where she was general editor of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy. She received her bachelor’s degree in science, technology, and society from Vassar College (B.A., magna cum laude, 2012) where she wrote her thesis on “Cryonics: Definitions of Death and Ethical, Legal, and Moral Implications.”
