Ernestilla Bahati

Ernestilla Bahati is the Founder and Principal Partner of Ernestilla Mafita & Company Advocates (EM & CO Advocates) and an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania. With more than fourteen years of experience, she advises multinational corporations, financial institutions, investors, government entities, and private businesses on complex disputes, strategic investments, and regulatory matters. Her practice combines formidable advocacy, sound commercial judgment, and a clear focus on protecting her clients’ interests and advancing their business objectives.

Ernestilla began her legal career as a Resident Magistrate in the Judiciary of Tanzania, gaining a judicial perspective that continues to inform her approach to legal strategy and dispute resolution. She subsequently held senior leadership positions at leading commercial law firms, serving as Head of Litigation and Employment and later as a Partner, before founding EM & CO Advocates.

A member of the International Bar Association and an active participant in international legal networks, Ernestilla brings a global outlook grounded in a deep understanding of Tanzania’s legal, commercial, and regulatory environment. She is recognised for her strategic insight, persuasive advocacy, and ability to navigate challenging matters with clarity and conviction.
