Azzedine Kettani

Azzedine Kettani is a pioneering figure in Morocco’s legal landscape, whose career spans over five decades of dedicated service, visionary leadership, and groundbreaking achievements. In an era before digital communication, when telex, fax, and landlines were the only means of contact, Kettani established what would become one of Morocco’s most prestigious law firms. After beginning his career as a professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Rabat, he quickly realized the importance of bridging academic knowledge with practical application. This conviction led him to launch his legal career on July 16, 1968, culminating in the creation of “Cabinet Azzedine Kettani” in 1971.

His command of the English language—a rare skill among Casablanca lawyers at the time—played a pivotal role in attracting major multinational clients and the U.S. government, establishing his firm’s reputation early on. As demand grew, so did the firm. What began with six professionals in 1973 expanded rapidly over the decades, evolving into a sophisticated operation with over 120 legal and administrative staff by the mid-2000s. Kettani Law Firm was structured into specialized departments covering litigation, corporate law, intellectual property, labor law, arbitration, and debt recovery—serving clients across sectors including banking, insurance, infrastructure, and energy.

Driven by a vision of excellence and sustainability, Kettani ensured continuity by inspiring his children—Nadia, Rita, Driss, and Zineb—to join the firm after completing elite education abroad. Their arrival added new energy and expertise to the practice, with Zineb notably transitioning from a career in pharmacy to lead the firm’s debt recovery department. In 2011, Kettani Law Firm took a major step forward by adopting the status of a professional civil company, further professionalizing its structure and reinforcing its collaborative spirit.

Today, under Azzedine Kettani’s enduring leadership, the firm stands as a model of legal excellence, combining family legacy with international standards.
