Yang HO Oh

Attorney Oh Yang-ho is a partner in Bae, Kim & Lee LLC (BKL). His practice focuses on advising corporate clients in areas of broadcasting, telecommunication, energy, and legislation. He has been with BKL for more than 20 years since 1989. His major successful cases include: international arbitration over CDMA royalty between Korea’s Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) and Qualcomm, sale of Daewoo Motors, restructuring and division of Daewoo Heavy Industries, reorganization of the structure of electrorefining industry, restructuring of foreign bonds of Korea Electric Power Corporation, privatization of KT, SKT’s merger with Shinsegi Telecom, and KT’s merger with KTF.

He studied law at Seoul National University and earned an LL.M. degree from Harvard Law School. He also studied at the University of Missouri Journalism School. He is a legal advisor to major companies including Korea Electric Power Corporation, KT, SKT, and SBS and government agencies including Korea Communications Commission, Ministry of Information and Communication, and ETRI. He was an outside director for Korean Commercial Arbitration Board, Korea Power Exchange, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, and Korea Western Power. He is a director of Korea Database Agency, an auditor of Chosun Ilbo Media Research Center, a member of the committee under the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning deliberating communication charges, a member of evaluation committee of the Information & Communication Promotion Fund, and a member of evaluation committee of Korea Telecommunications Operators Association.
