Stephen John Bennett is a partner in the Bangkok office of Hunton & Williams, where his practice focuses on corporate, mergers and acquisitions, structured finance and project development, including telecommunications, petrochemical and power transactions. He has served as counsel for both private and public entities, and has completed some of the largest M&A transactions in Thai history, including the US$7 billion acquisition of Thailand’s largest mobile telecommunications provider by an Asian investment company. In addition, he currently represents both US and European private equity funds in connection with asset and debt buyouts in Thailand.
He is currently recognized by Chambers Global and Chambers Asia as a leading individual in Thailand for his work in Corporate/M&A. He is noted by The Legal 500: Asia Pacific for his “strong experience in the Thai market.”
Mr. Bennett has been practicing in Thailand since 1994. He is an Australian lawyer, qualified to practice in Victoria, Queensland and the High Court of Australia. He received his LLB and his BA in Economics from Monash University.
