Professional Biography:

Nene is currently the Managing Partner of Sam Okudzeto & Associates. His areas of practice include Civil Litigation, Corporate and Commercial Law, Land and Labour Law, Constitutional Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Nene has over thirty years of experience as an attorney in Ghana. Nene obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and Political Science from the University of Ghana and a Master of Laws Degree in Advanced Litigation and Dispute Resolution from the Nottingham Law School, UK. Nene also has a certificate in Commercial Dispute Resolution from the United States Department of Commerce.
Nene is the current National President of the Ghana Bar Association. He is a member of the General Legal Council, Judicial Council, and the Ghana Arbitration Centre. Nene is also a member of the International Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and the Association of London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) Users’ Council. He is also a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and a Council member of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association.
Nene is currently an adjunct professor in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Advocacy and Legal Ethics at the Ghana School of Law, Accra. Nene has been invited to speak on the role of ADR in Ghana at Fordham University and St John’s University both in New York. Nene has served as a resource person in training Judges, Lawyers, traditional authorities, and other key stakeholders in ADR in Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal and The Gambia and has presented several papers in Conferences in Ghana, the United States, Papua New Guinea, Senegal, The Gambia and South Africa. He has also served as a consultant for the World Bank in developing an ADR manual for The Gambia and a manual on strengthening the adjudicatory capacity of traditional authorities for improved access to justice. He has also travelled widely and attended several legal conferences across the globe.
Nene Amegatcher is a Christian. He is a founding member of the National Union of Baptist Students, the Christian Lawyers Fellowship, Ghana and a member of Advocates International. He is the immediate past chair of the Board of World Vision, Ghana.
