Professional Biography:
Michelle Abad is an associate in Cadwalader’s Securitization & Asset-Based Finance Practice, focusing on residential and other asset-backed securities. She represents investment banks and financial institutions in their roles as issuers, underwriters, placement agents and mortgage loan sellers in both public and private offerings of mortgage-backed securities. In addition, Michelle has been engaged in whole-loan and mortgage servicing rights sale transactions, as well as secured warehouse lending facilities and asset-backed and mortgage-backed credit facilities.
Michelle received her J.D. from Tulane University Law School and her LL.B. from the Universidad Catolica Santa Maria La Antigua. She is admitted to practice in New York and in the Republic of Panama, where she advised clients in both domestic and cross- border M&A and project finance transactions, in addition to corporate governance, banking and capital market matters prior to joining Cadwalader.
