Professional Biography:
Kamilah Kasim graduated from the University of Malaya and was called to the Bar in Malaysia in 1988.
She joined Rajah & Tann in 2000 and was made a Principal/Partner in 2000. She left and joined Jones Day, an international law firm where she stayed for four years, practising in the field of international arbitration, and specialising in large complex engineering and commercial cases. In April 2007, she returned to Rajah & Tann. She is also a principal Partner of Kamilah & Chong. Kamilah & Chong is Rajah & Tann LLP’s associate firm in Kuala Lumpur.
Experience:
Kamilah’s experience in the legal industry extends to over 2 decades of involvement on contentious and non contentious matters relating to construction, energy and telecommunication projects in Asia. In respect of non-contentious matter, Kamilah has negotiated and drafted many construction and engineering contracts and related documents involving the principal forms of the standard contracts: SIA, JCT, FIDIC, PAM, JKR Form and ICE; in all contracting arrangements including main contracts, sub-contracts (nominated and domestic), design and build contracts, contracts for supply, management contracting and construction management, turnkey, concession agreements, PPA, PPP, EPC and bespoke construction contracts.
