Professional Biography:

Giampiero Proia is the President and Founder of the Proia & Partners law firm. He has strong and primary skills due to his long-standing experiences gained in the academic, managerial and institutional sectors.

A lawyer since 1988 (authorized before the Supreme Courts since 1998) and Professor since 1994, Giampiero is currently labor professor at the University of Roma Tre (“Università degli Studi Roma 3”) and welfare professor at LUISS University (“LUISS – Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli”). He is also Director of the labor and industrial relations Master at University of Roma Tre.

His scientific production (numerous publications, monographs, textbooks of university studies, articles of legal encyclopedias and labor periodical) is continuing and intense, as well as being a speaker at national and international conferences on labor, welfare and trade union law. He has also been appointed several times as a member of study commissions for the drafting of law texts.

With regard to the managerial skills, he has covered roles of representation, direction or control of various national public institutions. He has been appointed, inter alia, as member of the Board of ARAN (National Agency for Collective Bargaining Agreement of Public Authorities), President of Italia Lavoro S.p.A. (the public company in charge of Italian labor policies) and Commissioner of the National Authority for strikes of public services.
